Webinar Series: Heavy-Duty Electrification In Washington
The heavy-duty transportation sector may be the farthest away from fully electrifying, but several private and public fleets in Western Washington are taking big steps forward.
Our webinar on March 4 focused on the topic of advancing heavy-duty electrification.
During this webinar, we heard from two organizations that have adopted all-electric heavy-duty vehicles:
In 2019, Recology put the nation’s first electric Class 8 refuse truck into service. They now have plans to expand their electric fleet soon.
King County Metro currently has eleven battery electric buses with plans to order 120 by the end of 2020.
Each organization discussed their experiences thus far with heavy-duty electric vehicles, including infrastructure requirements, utility coordination, vehicle acquisition, and both expected and unanticipated lessons learned.
