Promoting the use of alternative fuels in transportation.
Established in 1998, the Western Washington Clean Cities Coalition (WWCC) is a membership-driven 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing clean transportation across Washington State.

As a proud member of the U.S. Department of Energy Clean Cities Program, we are "Kicking Gas!" by fostering local partnerships with clean transportation stakeholders, sharing educational materials and resources, hosting outreach activities around fuels and technologies, and spearheading innovative clean transportation programs.

Our Members
Our members are a tight-knit group of local and regional public and private fleet operators, clean transportation industry, and government leaders driven to try cleaner sustainable fuels and technologies in their operations. Our network of members shares not just a shared passion for innovating around what fuels and technologies move us, but also in sharing their successes and missteps with peers to cultivate a stronger coalition of cleaner Washington State fleet operators.
Our network is not just limited to Washington State and is national in scope thanks to our participation part in the greater U.S. Department of Energy Clean Cities Program, a nationwide network of nearly 100 coalitions nationwide providing similar support to their respective communities. As a national network, we’re in constant contact with our peer Coalitions, Federal agencies including the US Department of Energy, and clean transportation stakeholders nationwide. We’ll leverage this nationwide network to help you with your clean fleet goals.

Clean Cities in the Northwest
In 2020, the Columbia-Willamette Clean Cities (CWCC) and the Western Washington Clean Cities (WWCC) joined forces to create the first truly bi-state clean transportation and fleet-focused organization across Oregon and Washington. The coalitions, separately formed in 1994 and 1998, respectively, provide over 50 years of combined experience in catalyzing clean transportation.
The goal of the merger is to foster greater communication between fleets located in both states to help reduce barriers and catalyze the adoption of cleaner fuels and technologies.
While both organizations are housed under one roof and managed by a single team, we strive to maintain each coalition’s unique historic identity and tailored approaches to serving local fleets and clean industry partners in each coalition’s respective regions.
