We are thrilled to announce that three of our coalition members have successfully received funding through the Washington Electric Vehicle Charging Program (WAEVCP). This achievement marks a significant step towards expanding the availability of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across our state.

The Washington State Department of Commerce, in partnership with the Center for Sustainable Energy, has awarded a total of $85 million to various organizations, with a focus on reducing emissions, improving air quality, and promoting equitable access to EV charging. Our members have been selected to receive part of this funding to install Level 2 and DC fast chargers at key locations, including multifamily housing, public sites, workplaces, and fleet depots.
Specifically, the City of Longview will be installing chargers at a fleet depot and public locations, the City of Renton will be focusing on fleet depot charging, and the City of Kirkland will enhance its fleet depot with new charging stations.
This funding will help our coalition members contribute to the program's goals of deploying at least 200 DC fast charging ports and 2,000 Level 2 charging ports. By prioritizing installations in overburdened and vulnerable communities, this initiative supports our mission to foster sustainable and inclusive transportation solutions.
